JCody Ventures brings together capabilities that usually live in separate companies:
strategy and execution, technology and storytelling, planning and hands-on problem
solving.

## Why one umbrella?

Real projects rarely stay inside one professional category. A trade show may need
experience design, networking, sound and an interactive map. A corporate video may
require operational understanding, safe aerial work and a distribution plan. A church
may need its network rebuilt before its cameras, door access and livestream can
work properly.

Each division gives a capability a clear front door. The umbrella lets them work
together without asking you to coordinate a collection of strangers—and it means
the person planning the work understands what the person installing it will run
into.

## What the sprout means

Our mark is a seed with two leaves. It isn’t a promise of growth at any cost. It
stands for potential that has been given the conditions, judgment and work it needs
to become stronger—which is what we try to supply.

## How we think

 * **Understand before recommending.** We look at what exists and how people really
use it before proposing anything new.
 * **Prefer the simplest thing that works.** Complexity is a cost you keep paying
   after we leave.
 * **Show the math.** Storage, coverage, budgets and tradeoffs are explained, not
   hidden.
 * **Leave you independent.** Documentation, credentials and files stay with you.

## See it in motion

Words only go so far. If you want to see how I work, start with the videos. The
[Selected Work](https://jcody.com/selected-work/) page has the Locus Robotics stories
I helped direct and my community shoots, and [my YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/@sahranna/videos)
has everything else. Nothing there is boring and none of it is a home movie, so
pop some popcorn and enjoy the transparency.

### Jeffrey Cody

_Interactive Marketing Director · Startup growth marketer · Storyteller with a camera,
a drone and a network closet_

Jeffrey has spent nearly three decades helping technology companies get from “promising”
to “next level.” He has done it six times with startups, usually early, often messy,
and always with a budget that had to earn its keep. He’s the person you hire when
the playbook doesn’t exist yet.

Most of that story is the same story. He builds the marketing engine, ties every
dollar back to revenue, and keeps the whole team pointed at the same finish line,
whether that team is in the next room or on three continents. The programs he built
brought in leads worth millions, and he can tell you what each one cost and what
it was worth. Two of the companies he helped were acquired. He sat on the deal team
for one of those sales, so he knows what a buyer looks for before they ever pick
up the phone.

At Locus Robotics he was the first marketing hire, and he stayed to grow the function
around him. The idea he’s proudest of is a portable, theatrical trade-show environment,
the kind of space where a skeptical operator walks in with crossed arms and walks
out leaning forward. It started as two units and grew to twenty-six, traveling through
the US, Germany, Singapore and Australia for trade shows, customer innovation labs
and sales demos. The curtain goes up on time whether you’re ready or not, and he
builds for that.

The other half of his work is capturing the voice of the customer. Jeffrey shoots
and edits the video himself, and he has a simple rule: let customers tell it. He
records testimonials and on-site stories in their own words, in their own buildings,
with visuals that show the work as it actually happens. It’s authentic documentation
first and polish second, so the people watching believe what they see. When the
story needs scale, he takes it to the air. Drone capture shows the whole facility,
campus or site in a way no ground shot can, and it makes the numbers feel real.

He also came up through the technical side, with a networking background and a decade
or more of video and drone work. So he’s usually the one who rebuilds the network,
re-aims the cameras and re-cuts the video, then writes down what he did so you don’t
need him.

What he’s known for, in plain terms: marketing that follows the money, stories that
sound like real customers, and a track record of helping companies earn their next
stage of growth.

### JoAnn Duckworth Cody

_Veterinary Nurse · Cold Laser Therapist · Co-founder, JCody Ventures_

JoAnn Cody has spent her working life beside animals who can’t tell anyone what
hurts. She has been a veterinary professional since 1996, and she is process-driven,
deeply knowledgeable, and enormous-hearted.

She built her career in clinics across southeastern Massachusetts: [Acoaxet Veterinary Clinic](https://www.acoaxetvet.com/)
in Westport, [Sharon Veterinary Clinic](https://www.sharonvet.com/), and [Animal Eye Specialists](https://www.animaleyespecialists.us/)
in West Bridgewater. Today she works in the surgical suite at [JM Pet Resort & Veterinary Clinic](https://jmpetresort.com/)
in Brockton. A professional with her depth is more than a technician. She is a surgical
and dental clinician, a clinical operations leader, and an essential partner to
the veterinary surgeon, with the institutional knowledge, manual dexterity and situational
awareness that can’t be taught in a classroom.

**In the surgical suite**, she handles advanced anesthesia and analgesia, from patient-
specific protocols to multimodal pain management and fast, calm response when something
changes. She keeps strict aseptic technique, prepares soft-tissue and orthopedic
fields, and provides smooth four-handed surgical assistance. She manages recovery
as well: emergence, vitals, wounds and bandages.

**In the dental operatory**, she leads oral health assessments: dental triage, full-
mouth digital radiographs, careful charting, and reading the pathology on the images.
She performs local nerve blocks, subgingival scaling and root planing, and assists
with extractions.

**Running the day**, she organizes the surgical schedule so doctors’ time is balanced
and patients wait less. She holds the pre-surgical conversations with owners, sets
expectations, and puts complex procedures into plain language. She keeps controlled-
substance logs and audits to state and federal standards, trains new technicians,
and sets the aseptic standard. She also manages specialized equipment, vendors and
inventory.

**Her process is the heart of it.** In a surgical suite, process is how you keep
an animal safe. JoAnn writes it down, follows the checklist, and improves the checklist
afterward. That is why people get clear plans, clear notes and no surprises. The
heart is the other half. One of her favorite stories is about Ivy, a horse who didn’t
trust the look of the laser. JoAnn won her over with some time in the sun and a
lot of patience.

**EquiPulse Laser Therapy** is her own cold laser practice for horses, dogs, cats
and pocket pets, based in Taunton. It is separate from her clinic work, and it follows
one rule: work alongside your veterinarian, never around them.

At JCody Ventures, which she co-founded with Jeffrey, she brings the same habits:
write it down, check it twice, and treat the animals and the people with equal care.
